There’s something incredibly special about watching a young cowboy grow up in front of my lens, especially when he’s got a bond as strong as Wyatt has with his grandpa’s mustang, Rocky.
I’ve had the honor of photographing these two a few times now and each session feels like a page out of a storybook. This time, we went with a patriotic theme: Wyatt wore a USA flag-inspired shirt and proudly held a full-sized American flag as he sat tall on Rocky’s back. The way he looked with quiet pride and confidence, so young, yet so connected to his roots, was unforgettable.
Rocky, calm and steady as ever, seemed to understand the moment. These two have the kind of partnership that goes beyond words: trust, respect and a whole lot of heart.
